Barron Trump is busy creating his own life in New York City. The youngest son of Donald Trump currently attends Stern Business School at New York University, and while he takes classes, his father is busy trying to change the world for the better.
The U.S. military has long been a cornerstone of national pride and service, yet former President Donald Trump has never worn the uniform. In fact, according to multiple reports, the Trump family’s paternal line hasn’t served in the military for at least three generations.
Now, following Trump’s controversial decision to bomb three nuclear sites in Iran, a wave of online voices is calling for his youngest son, Barron Trump, to enlist in the U.S. Army.
The reason? It’s both emotional and telling.
Donald Trump along with his sons Donald Jr. and Eric has consistently praised the armed forces, often emphasizing the military’s vital role in preserving American strength and security. Still, despite being drafted during the Vietnam War era, Trump avoided service due to a medical deferment for bone spurs in his heels.
Rather than serve, he joined his father Fred Trump in the family’s real estate business. In a 2016 interview with The New York Times, Trump explained that his condition “healed up over time” and noted that he never underwent surgery to correct it something critics have repeatedly questioned.
None of Trump’s children have served either, and over the years, many veterans and military families have voiced frustration over what they view as performative patriotism from the Trump family.
Now, social media users are pointing to Barron who just turned 19 as the one Trump who could finally change that narrative.
Social Media Calls for Barron Trump to Enlist in U.S. Army
Donald Trump’s June 22 airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran have stirred fierce debate. Some lawmakers branded the strikes “unconstitutional,” and the fact that Trump himself has never served in the military only intensified criticism.
Though American troops have not been deployed into Iran, a new wave of online voices is calling for someone close to Trump to lead the charge his youngest son, Barron.
On X (formerly Twitter), several users have demanded that Barron Trump enlist in the U.S. Army and be among the first to step into any potential conflict zone.
“Don’t panic, MAGA; not a single Trump male will be anywhere near the fighting,” one user mocked, according to Irish Star. “Barron already has developed preemptive fake bone spurs.”
“If Trump decides the U.S. should engage in a ground war with Iran, I assume Barron will be enlisting,” another user posted, as reported by The Spun. “The Trump family loves and supports the troops, right? Be a patriot!”
Others were even more direct: “SHOULD BARRON BE DEPLOYED FIRST? Before anyone else’s child is sent to Iran, Barron needs to enlist and go to the front lines of the war his father unconstitutionally started.”
One user wrote sharply, “It should be mandatory that any sitting president who starts a war Republican or not must have their sons enlist and serve in combat. Barron’s living comfortably in NYC with his stepfather, Hank, like a normal 19-year-old. He should be in boot camp. Or deported back to wherever he came from with his mother.”
The discourse reflects a larger frustration: a belief that those who make the gravest decisions about war often remain farthest from its consequences.
Barron Trump’s Mother Shuts Down College Rejection Rumors
Very little is publicly known about Barron Trump’s academic record, but the fact that he applied to some of the nation’s top universities suggests strong performance in high school. Still, a wave of speculation recently questioned just how open his options truly were.
Rumors began swirling after a Facebook post claimed Barron had been rejected by three elite institutions: Harvard, Columbia, and Stanford. The post, which quickly gained traction, read:
“Guess what colleges didn’t accept Barron Trump? Harvard. Stanford. Columbia. Any college Trump is attacking are the ones that, with all his money, still said ‘no endowment will let him in.’”
Entertainment outlet Nicki Swift picked up the story, adding fuel to the speculation. However, fact-checking site Snopes investigated the claims and found no credible evidence to support them. “There is no proof that these universities rejected Barron Trump,” the outlet stated.
In response, former First Lady Melania Trump stepped in to firmly set the record straight. Through her spokesperson, she denied the rumors entirely.
“Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he or anyone on his behalf applied is completely false,” said Nick Clemens, spokesperson for the Office of the First Lady, in a statement to Snopes.
The Harvard Controversy
Interestingly, the rumor came amid heightened tensions between Donald Trump and several Ivy League schools Harvard in particular. The former president has accused Harvard of fostering anti-Semitism following pro-Palestinian protests related to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
He’s also criticized the university for admitting what he described as “too many international students.” The issue has escalated into legal battles, with several lawsuits filed against the university.
