I’ve always been a fan of Sally Field. She is a legend and truly a gifted actress. And the 76-year-old has shared many on-screen romances in her storied career.
She has had, therefore, her fair share of on-screen kisses as well. She recently shared which has been the worst, although she hesitated to admit which costar it was with at first.
Widely regarded as one of the most versatile and gifted actresses of her generation, Sally Field has enjoyed a remarkable career in Hollywood, winning over audiences with her unforgettable performances across film and television.
Who could forget her powerful portrayal in Steel Magnolias, especially that heart-wrenching funeral scene? Sally masterfully conveyed a whirlwind of emotions — love, despair, anger, and grief — in a way that left a lasting impact.
Of course, her legacy spans far beyond that single role. She became a household name through beloved classics like Gidget, The Flying Nun, Smokey and the Bandit, Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Erin Brockovich.
Born into a working-class showbiz family in Pasadena, California, Sally’s roots helped shape the strong and spirited performer the world would come to admire.

But Sally Field’s early life was anything but a fairytale. In her candid memoir, she revealed painful details about her childhood including abuse by her stepfather and undergoing a secret abortion at just 17 years old.
Despite those difficult beginnings, Sally emerged as a resilient, compassionate, and remarkably grounded individual.
Even today, she remains active in the industry she’s helped shape for decades. In 2020, she played Janice in the series Dispatches From Elsewhere, and in 2022, she took on the role of Jessie Buss in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty the acclaimed series that dives into the lives and legends of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers.
Given how involved she still is with her craft, it’s no surprise that Sally continues to make appearances in interviews and stays connected with her audience.

During the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen episode on Thursday, December 1, legendary actress Sally Field made a surprising and slightly awkward revelation. When a fan asked her to name her worst on-screen kiss, the 76-year-old star didn’t hold back.
Field laughed and looked around the room before teasing, “Oh boy. Should I really name names here?”
Host Andy Cohen, 54, encouraged her with a grin: “I think you should.”
After a moment of hesitation, Field gave in: “Okay. This is going to be a shocker. Hold on, folks.” Then came the bombshell she named her former boyfriend and Smokey and the Bandit co-star, Burt Reynolds.
Cohen, clearly taken aback, asked, “But weren’t you dating at the time?”
Field confirmed it happened while they were filming Smokey and the Bandit, but confessed she had to “look the other way” during their kissing scenes. “It just wasn’t something he really did for you,” she said, hinting that the chemistry on screen didn’t quite translate off-camera at least when it came to kissing.
Cohen reacted with a surprised, “Isn’t that something?”
Field further explained that part of the problem was Reynolds’ tendency to “drool” during their scenes — a detail that left both the audience and host stunned.
The two actors met in 1977 while filming the classic movie and went on to have a high-profile relationship that lasted about five years.
Reynolds, who passed away at 82 from cardiac arrest, later opened up about their romance in his memoir But Enough About Me, where he admitted to having regrets about how things ended. According to the New York Post, he wrote that he wished he had tried harder to make their relationship work.
In a candid interview with Variety in March, Sally Field opened up about why she chose to cut off contact with Burt Reynolds during the final 30 years of his life — and made it clear the decision wasn’t without reason.
“He simply wasn’t someone I could be around,” she said. “He wasn’t good for me in any sense of the word.”
Field went on to reflect on how Reynolds had seemingly rewritten their past in his later years. “Somehow, in his own retelling, I became more important to him than I ever truly was. But the truth is, I wasn’t,” she explained. “He just wanted what he couldn’t have — and I wasn’t willing to entertain that. I didn’t want to go back down that road.”
Always have had nothing but high praise and respect for the works of Sally Field. Absolutely top-notch!
