Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a heartbreaking decision about their daughter Lilibet that has left fans deeply emotional.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are the proud parents to two adorable children: Archie Harrison, and Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana.

The couple are raising their children in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, and providing them with a low-key life as possible.

However, details regarding their daughter Lilibet’s christening have emerged and it’s left their fans feeling emotional.

The timing of Lilibet’s christening announcement has drawn attention from royal watchers.

Born in California on June 4, 2021, Lilibet was baptized nearly two years later in a private ceremony at the couple’s Montecito home in March 2023.

What makes this announcement particularly noteworthy is the date Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose to share the news.

The couple publicly revealed the christening on March 8, 2023—a date that may seem ordinary to some but holds deeper significance.

This isn’t the first time the Duke and Duchess have chosen a meaningful date for a major life update.

On February 14, 1984, Princess Diana—Prince Harry’s mother—announced she was expecting him.

In his Netflix documentary, Harry admitted he was stunned by the parallel when he and Meghan revealed their own pregnancy on the same date decades later.

“I was shocked. We had no idea. It was just a coincidence—or maybe not a coincidence.”

Prince Harry has often drawn connections between his life with Meghan Markle and his late mother, Diana.

In his memoir Spare, he shared another striking moment tied to the beginning of their relationship.

“Eventually, we exchanged phone numbers and moved our conversation to text, talking late into the night,” he wrote, adding that he was “texting like a teenager” the entire next day.

Then, he realized something uncanny:

“It occurred to me how surreal, how bizarre, that this marathon conversation should have begun on July 1, 2016—my mother’s fifty-fifth birthday.”

These meaningful coincidences seem to deepen Harry and Meghan’s bond, further intertwining their lives with Diana’s enduring legacy.

Prince Harry has frequently drawn comparisons between Meghan Markle and his mother, Princess Diana.

However, according to a royal author, he was disappointed when his family did not share the same perspective.

Harry and Meghan began dating in 2016, and by 2017, she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair with the headline “Wild About Harry.” While a milestone for their relationship, the feature reportedly raised concerns within the duke’s inner circle, including Prince William and Kate.

In Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, author Tom Bower writes (per The Mirror):

“The Vanity Fair article increased the Cambridges’ suspicion of Meghan.

“By then, Harry had introduced Meghan to Diana’s sisters, Jane and Sarah, as well as her close friend, Julia Samuel. He believed they would recognize similarities between Meghan and Diana, given the challenges they both faced.

“He was disappointed. None agreed that Meghan and his vulnerable mother were alike. Worse still, they questioned whether Meghan would fit into the royal family.”

Bower also noted that Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, voiced similar concerns—at the request of Prince William.

Having been married three times himself, Spencer advised Harry to slow down before committing to marriage, a suggestion that reportedly created tension.

Looking back, Prince Harry acknowledged the challenges of integrating Meghan into the royal family, a struggle that would later define much of their journey together.

As for Lilibet’s christening, the choice of date appears to have been a deliberate – and tragic – reference to the royal family.

International Women’s Day is on March 8, it’s a significant day for such a momentous occasion

However, some royal fans have pointed to another important connection.

The date fell exactly six months after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, known to her family as Lilibet.

The Queen passed away on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, marking a profound moment of mourning for the royal family and the nation.

Announcing Lilibet’s christening on this day was seen as a poignant tribute to her late namesake.
