The Super Bowl saw the Philadelphia Eagles dominate the Kansas City Chiefs with a 40-22 victory, ending their hopes of securing a historic third consecutive title. It was a tough day for Travis Kelce—not only did his team fall short, but his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was also booed by fans during the game.
The moment Swift appeared on the jumbotron, the crowd erupted in jeers.
That forced the singer to turn to her friend, Ice Spice, and ask her, “What is going on?”
Being a professional, Swift handled the situation like one, giving the camera a slow side eye. Of course, that didn’t mean the booing hadn’t made her feel uncomfortable.
Chief’s tight end, Kelce, felt the same, according to people close to him.
“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” a source said.
“He always protects her, and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night, and the overwhelmingly Eagles-dominated crowd didn’t make it any easier. Travis knows this hurt her, and it’s obvious to anyone watching.”
They continued, “Many Eagles fans see her as a traitor of sorts—being from Pennsylvania and even wearing Eagles gear before she started dating him.”
Allegedly, Kelce also commented on President Trump’s response to Swift being booed at the Super Bowl game.
Trump, the first sitting U.S. president to attend the Super Bowl, took to Truth Social to boast, “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.
The world is healing!”
Before the game, Kelce addressed Trump’s attendance, stating that he would be honored to play in front of the president—regardless of who holds the office.
“Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honoured for a president to be there,” the source added.
“After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn’t been a good week for them.
“But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”
