Since Joe Biden “could not be trusted,” Donald Trump has now revoked a significant privilege that all previous presidents have enjoyed.
Trump aims to overhaul most of his predecessor’s policies and introduce what he describes as “America’s golden age” during his presidency.
Trump now claims that he can’t ‘be trusted’ and is rescinding the former president’s security clearance and daily intelligence briefing access, seemingly in a slight to Biden.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information.”
The Republican then added, “JOE, YOU’RE FIRED,” referencing his famous catchphrase from The Apprentice—a phrase he has frequently used to dismiss some of Biden’s former government employees.
Trump’s statement comes as he accuses Biden of having excluded him from intelligence briefings for the first time during his 2021 administration.
“Biden set this precedent,” Trump claimed, “when he asked the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy accorded to prior Presidents.”
Trump also claimed that Biden “could not be trusted with sensitive information,” citing an investigation into the storage of classified documents, which highlighted the 82-year-old’s memory issues.
He wrote, “The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information. I will always protect our National Security.”
Traditionally, former presidents are granted access to sensitive intelligence briefings as a courtesy. However, in 2021, Biden revoked Trump’s access.
Biden defended the decision, pointing to Trump’s “erratic behavior” as the key factor. “What value is giving him an intelligence briefing?” Biden said. “What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”
Numerous former CIA directors and scores of other former intelligence personnel have also had their security clearances revoked by Trump, who has accused them of influencing the 2020 election in favor of Biden.
Mark Milley, a senior US military commander and outspoken opponent of the Trump, is among those dismissed.
According to the BBC, Milley’s military grade has been reviewed and a probe into his “conduct” has been requested by Pete Hegseth, the new defense secretary.
Anthony Fauci, the president’s former main medical adviser, has also lost access to security information. Trump insisted that it was “very standard” to remove such individuals from the right, despite the fact that Fauci headed the US response to the coronavirus outbreak.
